SHAME (a poem for Mohammad Tanzimuddin Khan)

Today they pointed the finger at my professor.
Unexpected.
There was an uproar in social media.
Expected.
I kept silent.
No solidarity speech.
No public apology.
No heartbreaking tears.
I kept silent.
For sure, some people will make noise.
Right.
They will say, “you’re not aloneSir.”
Wrong.
He was alone with his passionate lectures.
He was alone with his unmatched courage.
He was alone, actually, all the time.
No speech, no apology, and no tears
Will be enough
To wipe out the stains of shame
From our existence
This shame is gonna stay with US.
This shame is gonna stay WITH US.
This shame is gonna STAY WITH US.
This shame is GONNA STAY WITH US.
This shame IS GONNA STAY WITH US.
This SHAME IS GONNA STAY WITH US.
THIS SHAME IS GONNA STAY WITH US.
